You'll have to excuse the ugly photo but this was seriously one of the most guilt inducing flavors I have made in a smoothie yet. Honestly, as I drank this I felt like I was sitting at an old fashioned soda bar drinking a thousand calorie strawberry shake/carb bomb. So even though I only had one quarter of a "shake" remaining I opted for a photo and a recipe to share. I hope you enjoy, especially sice there are only about 344 calories in this sucker and roughly 11g Net Carbs.
Ingredients
1 Cup Almond Milk
1 Scoop Vanilla Whey Protein
4 Large Strawberries
1 Cup Fresh Spinach, Washed
1 Tablespoon Psyllium Husk
2-4 Tablespoons Stevia or sweetener of your choice
2 Tablespoons Chia Seeds (ground chia works too)
2 Cups Ice
2 Tablespoon sweetened Whipped Topping of your choice (coconut cream, cool whip, whipped cream, you get my drift - I used cool whip since I was out of coconut milk)
Directions
Blend everything except the whipped topping, until smooth
Pour half your smoothie into a glass
Add a layer of whipped topping
Pour remaining smoothie in the class
Add more whipped topping
Now with a straw, mix it all together (loosely)
Let it sit for a few minutes so the chia can do it's magic (5 minutes max is fine)
Enjoy!
