What's Toum? If you haven't had the pleasure to enjoy Toum (the creamy sauce in the picture above), let me illuminate you to one of the tastiest sauces on planet earth. Toum is a garlic dipping sauce often served with Schwarma and I use it for everything from marinades to toppings. Imagine a lemony garlic mayo with just the right hint of salt.
Ingredients
3-4 Cloves of Garlic, Peeled
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
Juice of 1 Lemon
Salt to taste
Directions
In a blender, pulse garlic until it begins to form a paste
Add oil a little at a time while the blender is on to create an emulsion
When all the oil is added, mix in the lemon juice and salt to taste
Refrigerate over night to mellow out the flavors, or just dig in with some chicken!
NOTE - you can marinate veggies, chicken or any type of meat or seafood in this then just pop it in the oven, on the grill or in a searing hot pan for a fast and delicious dinner!
