I've been craving Korean BBQ all day but I had ground beef ready for burgers that I didn't want to waste so I decided to make bulgogi burgers! I asked the hubby to get some pork belly on his way home and cooked that up and we ended up with a feast! I hope you enjoy this easy and cheap (ish) KBBQ fix!
Ingredients
Marinade
1/4 Cup Sesame Oil
1/4-1/2 Cup Sweetener of Choice (this is to taste, some people like their bulgogi sweeter than others)
1/4 Cup Coconut Aminos or Soy Sauce
1/4" Ginger Root, rough chopped
8-10 Cloves Garlic
1-2 Tablespoons Chives
1 Tablespoon Sriracha (optional)
Meat
3 lbs ground beef (it's easy to freeze pre-made burger patties)
1/2 lb thin sliced pork belly
Toppings
Kimchi
Mixed greens
Sesame oil sauce: (sesame oil, sea salt, minced garlic and sliced serrano peppers - macha green tea powder is optional but an amazing addition to this)
Directions
In a blender, mix marinade ingredients.
Pour marinade in a bowl with the ground beef.
Mix well
Form patties.
Allow to marinade for at least 30 minutes.
In a hot dry pan cook the pork belly saving the fat in the pan once cooked through.
Cook burgers in pork fat and serve.
My stack looked like this from bottom to top (too ingredient goes directly on the plate):
Mixed baby greens
Burger patty
Kimchi
Pork belly
A drip of the sesame oil sauce
Enjoy!
